| DOCTOR WHO? DR ZOIDBERG, THAT'S WHO!
|Now that was some episode of DOCTOR WHO last night!
It was called THE IMPOSSIBLE PLANET and was REAL Sci-Fi/Horror. Proper scary stuff. Great visuals, fantastic-ally directed and some strong performances. And it was scary as f**k! Like a cross between ALIEN and SPHERE. Some very striking visuals going on and it was hard to believe this was a UK production. The music is also well worthy of a mention. Is this the best this year so far? Could be. Is it the best since its return last year? Could be! I loved the 'monsters' in the show, the OOD - voiced by SILAS Ki-Adi-Mundi CARSON. Yes, I know, I am a geek.
The Ood, yesterday.
But I couldn't help wondering if my old chum from FUTURAMA was making a guest appearance...
Dr Zoidberg, yesterday.
On another geek-level, the voive of THE BEAST was played by GABRIEL WOOLF who you will, of course, remember from the 1975 story, PYRAMIDS OF MARS. Interestingly he played a villian called SUTEKH, who went by another name...SATAN! (even more interesting is the fact that the phrase "he goes by many names" was actually used in both stories). What is the name of next week's episode? THE SATAN PIT! What date is it on Tuesday? 6/6/6!! So well done to the production team, I am hoping that the next one is as good.
Other news, I was watching BIG BROTHER and remembered where I had seen Irvine's "Unemployed Nail Technician Of The Year", SAM before.
Milli Vanilli, yesterday. Well actually years ago.
Yup, MILLI VANILLI. Girl you know it's true. Tosser. SEZER was evicted to quite a reception. He genuinely looked shocked. Just before it he went into the diary room to boast how he wasn't going! "It's not my time" he spake. Good, I hated the prick. Elsewhere in the house
, a quiet week for PETE but coming in strong is 18 year old Welsh Superhero, GLYN. For God's sake do NOT call him Glenn, he don't like that. GRACE is showing her true colors with an expletive every 30 seconds while bitching about someone. She has no chance now.
Tit-face, Hasslehof & whats-her-name, yesterday
MY NAME IS EARL finished and was a thoroughly enjoyable first season, not many laugh-out-loud moments but more like, erm, brain funny. One of my favourite films is BLADE RUNNER and they have announced, af6ter many years of speculation, that there will finally be a 'proper' DVD release of the RIDLEY SCOTT classic. There has been a 'vanilla' release (one of the first DVD releases fact fans) but they plan an edition with the Original Theatrical Cut, the Director's Cut (which wasn't actually) and the Final Cut (which technically, is the Director's Cut). Check out the story HERE. Can't wait!
Life wise, had my final exam last week, Computing. Pretty good, think I've done enough to pass. Ans that's all that matters. Blog fans will be aware that this was started purely because of that course. I don't need to do this anymore. But I'm gonna!
What did one teddy bear say to the other teddy bear when he offered him some dessert?
No thanks, I'm stuffed.
Til the next time
