WHO SEASON FINALE, sniff
What an end.

"That's not Davina!"

I always think that the second part of a two-parter (this one called DOOMSDAY, oooo) is gonna be a bit worse than the first but not here. No sir.

The Doc does his Vvyian from the Young Ones impression, yesterday

We got DALEKS & CYBERMEN at it together. Maybe not enough action perhaps but it was still funnnnnn. It became quite apparent who would win in a fight - the little pepperpots themselves and they knew it!

Daleks 1-0 Cybermen

There was the tantalising "CULT OF SKARO" which consisted of four Daleks (one of which was black) who had names and thunk like no other Dalek. Jeez! Then we had the "Genesis Ark" which turned out to be a Timelord prison ship which held millions of the little buggers in.

The Genesis Ark (without Peter Gabriel), yesterday

Then, of course (we knew it was coming), was Rose's departure. Would she die? Well it looked like she might but she didn't. The little minx got stuck in a parallel universe with Mickey, Pete & Jackie. It was a very moving end. Heartfelt and honest. THEN came the shock introduction of a new character, THE BRIDE, played by none other than CATHERINE TATE! Good work by the Beeb keeping all these little secrets just that. Anyway, what a season. Well done to the makers and cast. I'll do an analysis at a later date.
Once the tears have dried....
So long Billie, England's Rose... (couldn't resist).

The Bride, yesterday

I almost forgot to mention, the RADIO TIMES had yet another DR WHO cover. In fact two covers! They tied it in with the WORLD CUP FINAL (which I'll mention later). That makes 5 since Xmas, the most ever! Check them:

The covers, yesterday

In other WHO-related news, TOYS R US released a 6 inch and a 12 inch version of the Cyber Controller and you got a FREE 10th Doctor figure when you bought one. Snapped up a few and sold them rather quickly on eBay. Also picked up these snazzy cufflinks from ASDA today, check it!

Cufflinks, yesterday

Speaking of eBay, today I went to the post office THREE TIMES due to sales over the weekend. It didn't help it was a local holiday yesterday and it was shut. THREE TIMES! About 40 items! More cufflinks you say...

Cufflinks, yesterday

Oh, one last piece of WHO-NEWS, the new companion has been announced. As I correctly predicted a few weeks back, it will be Freema Agyeman (who I am sure you will remember was killed off in the first part of the finale!). Check the story HERE. First black companion ever! Good work Beeb.

Martha & the Doctor, in the future...

STILL GAME was excellent again and picked up the first two season cheap on DVD (thank you ASDA). There were 4 new housemates introduced to BIG BROTHER but I cannot be bothered with them. Apart from JAYNE, I hate her. Went to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and it was quite excellent. Well done, stout work. It also managed to score a huge opening weekend worldwide, check the story HERE. On Sunday, the men's final in WIMBLEDON took place (yawn, Federer won - shock) as did the WORLD CUP FINAL which Italy won on penalties. more interesting was Zidane's headbutt of an opponent. he got sent off and yet still managed to win best pakyer on the tournament. Go 'figure'. Click HERE for that story.

The 'best' football player in the world or "the son of a terrorist whore" ? You decide.....

Got my English results in. A 15 for Language (or Essentials of Language as they like to call it - the miserable bastids), which I am well happy with, at best I thought I would get a 14. At best, that is. For Writing Scotland Now (lame, lame name) I got a 16 which am a little disappointed in although I did so little revision for the exam. Anyway, I passed and that is all that matters.

I see Johnny Depp has made an exercise DVD for Jamaican women
Pilates of the Caribbean

Schnarf

'Til next next time,
