EVEN MORE WHO, A GIG & TERM ENDS (Woo Hoo)
WHO Stuff first. Check out this pic, I think you'll agree, it's a bit odd:

Ducktor Who, yesterday.

Elsewhere, THE BIG ISSUE (the Scottish edition) featured an exclusive David Tennant interview, which was handy and sold a few on eBay along with the new soundtrack (which is excellent BTW). There was a report HERE about the upcoming season where, "Dr Who cosies up with his new girl". The RADIO TIMES features WHO on the cover again, if only slightly. There's a freebie of an audio CD read by Mr Tennant. The new trailer for THE RUNAWAY BRIDE has aired and the advent calendar on the official website has been giving the fans some fantastic WHO items including games, more wallpaper and music. There was a really bad episode of TORCHWOOD on the other night (similar to the WHO episode, LOVE & MONSTERS) but they have given it another season, click HERE for that story.

The TARDIS, yesterday.

Elsewhere on TV, erm not much going on. HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU featured BORIS JOHNSON at the helm and, as always, he was hilarious. QI continues its high quality and THE RUSSELL BRAND SHOW is also OK. Film-wise, went to see THE HOLIDAY which was both good and bad. The split story just highllighted the inadequacy of the other - specifically the Jack Black/Kate Winslet story was engaging whereas the Jude Law/Cameron Diaz one was not (mainly due to her poor skills as an actress). I am also getting fed up of this Blair-ite Britain we are constantly exposed to in US funded UK films like Love Actually; Bridget Jones et al - I know its a movie but some realism might be nice. There was also some lazy plot devices that were not explained but having said all this (oh yeah, it was also too long) it was not terrible. Also viewed BLACK CHRISTMAS which was a hoot, again predictable and lazy but importantly: not overlong and gleefully self knowing.

Smug & Smugger, yesterday.

Life-wise, went to the doctor and I am not dying. Got my blood pressure and heart rate taken and all is perfect there which is really good to know. I am on drugs to counter my head pains. Cancelled a couple of BEER OR NO BEERs but bravely did a gig at REVOLUTION. Strangely, I was on first so it was not as busy as usual. Had planned to do some xmas songs but the crowd didn't seem like they wanted it - in fact, they wanted snow patrol. Jeez! Did stick Amy Winhouse's REHAB in with LIKE A VIRGIN which was pretty good. Term 1 of 2006/7 at Uni has now finished and I had a bloody English essay to do for the last day AND a Film Studies presentation for the second last day, so no let up for me. Got my last Film Studies essay back and got an 18. I am great. Good news for that department - new staff (who actually have a doctorate) coming in after xmas - one of them from Harvard! Also there's supposedly a Chilean film director coming in to lecture too, his reference came by phone from JOHN MALKOVICH!

Two snowmen having a chat, one says to the other:

Do you smell carrots?

Til the next time
