Yup, he indeed (although not for the first time in the history of Who) in last week's episode: THE SHAKESPEARE CODE. I'll start with the positives, and there were many. DEAN LENNOX KELLY was excellent as the Bard and brought a very real and modern sense to the role. And he was pretty bloody funny. Although maybe one too many 'in-jokes'.
'Dark Lady' - Political correctness gone mad!
Tennant, as ever, was tip top and showed his rather callous and alien side when in bed with Martha. Speaking of Freema she wasn't really given much to do in this episode but that's okay. She's got a few episodes to go anyway. CHRISTINA COLEwas damn sexy as LILITH the witch but the others were a bit pantomime and the prosthetics weren't that good. CG-wise, the settings were exquisitely done. Plot-wise, now here I had a bit of a problem. Recalling the story of LOGOPOLIS(as I am sure you remember), where they chanted numbers to change the physical form of the universe, the Carrionites(the aforementioned witches) used words.
Witch way is The Globe?
The resolution was not that good (or believable) but I did enjoy the the encounter with the Queen right bang at the end. What's gonna happen? I do not know, but I look forward to it greatly. Annoyingly, this week's episode could be cancelled if the football overruns, bastids! THE WEAKEST LINK special was finally shown in Scotland and most enjoyable it was too.
Sexy bed scene in Dr Who!
Still with TV, here's some news. It's official RUSSELL BRAND has quit BBBM, go HERE for confirmation. Keen readers will know that I had suggested this would happen quite some time ago... LIFE ON MARS was text-book enigmatic with the appearance of a character called FRANK MORGAN - the name of the actor who played the titular character in THE WIZARD OF OZ, coincidence? Hunt calls Tyler 'Dorothy' a lot too. Anyway, he was played by RALPH BROWN, who I am sure you remember for his 'unforgettable' performance as RIC OLLIE in THE PHANTOM MENACE but I prefer to remember him as DANNY in the classic WITHNAIL & I(a role he reprised in WAYNE'S WORLD 2). Tonight sees the end of the show, can't wait! Also great last week was THE APPRENTICE with my fav JAFAR, I mean TRE. He just can't get on with anyone. Priceless. They had to come up with a doggy product (nicked from the U.S. Apprentice) and delivered a pouch and a wardrobe which was described as 'out-of-the-box' thinking. Ha ha, surely a wardrobe is in the box? On that team, one of the girls came up with a new term for brainstorming, and I ain't sure on the spelling here - 'ideation'. Nice one! Check out this clip of otters holding hands, even funnier is the narration provided by the tourists, idiots!
Music-wise, got the new release from the KINGS OF LEON and flippin good it is too. Also, heard the new single from RUFUS WAINWRIGHT, "GOING TO A TOWN". Utterly amazing and beautiful. He's also got a couple of fab songs on the soundtrack to kids' film MEET THE ROBINSONS. Stout work Roofy, stout work. Finally, it's time for the CUM DRENCHED WHORE OF THE WEEK AWARD and it goes to all round slutbag, CHRISTINA AGUILERA for her antics on her new single - 'CANDYMAN'. "He makes my panties drop"?!!! "He makes my cherry pop"??!!! I mean really, what a CDW!
Candyman? Poor Clive Barker....
A party was organised for a crowd of toad-stools. It was very crowded, but they were all happy.... There wasn't mush-room, but they didn't mind because they were all such fungi's
