Anakin Idol
Groan! In a shameless endorsement of his new film, JUMPER, Jedi bad~boy HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN appeared on AMERICAN IDOL.

Can SEACREST emulate YODA and out~act his co~star?

Particularly grating was the fact that COKE had obviously put money into this too - US readers note that when it is broadcast in the UK, the COKE cups that the judges have are blurred, just like in a reality crime show! - as HC was drinking from a COKE can throughout his appearance. So what we got was a product placement within a product placement on a TV show - how's that for 'Meta TV'? Laughs did ensue, however, when RYAN SEACREST referred to his shambolic EMMY hosting experience. Nice one Rye!

Coke~head.

It was 'Hollywood Week' (or should that be 'weak' - see what I did there?) and pretty dull. The only memorable moments were when the arrogant little Brit~wannabe JOSIAH got booted off (after he said he was gonna make it through) and blubbed like a four year~old. Idiot! Sadly, we have missed out on a future TV phenomenon as KYLE nearly made it but fell right at the end. Oddly, SIMON "I Wish I Had What You Have Kyle" COWELL made his feelings perfectly clear, he wanted him in and was 'disappointed' by his fellow judges. As was I Si, as was I. Kyle would have a welcome addition to the beautiful (yet ugly) a~holes that populate the current series.

Simon Cowell wants to be this guy. No, really.

Elsewhere on TV, ASHES TO ASHES got worse. Her constant referencing to others as 'constructs' really was too much. We get it already! She knows, we know. SAM used to just get on with it you daft cow! Like last week, there were some larfs and the soundtrack was topping - TENPOLE "Our Singer Was Once A Possible Dr Who" TUDOR, nice! - but the story was weak (predictably so) and the show is painfully thin on substance. I'll give it one more weak. Oops, I meant 'week'. (Note to self: don't use the same pun twice again). The numbnuts behind A2A should take a leaf out of the book that the makers of LOST are using. This week's (not broadcast in the UK yet) was superb. Those bastids keep delivering juicy, juicy material. Last post I mentioned my wish to see odd~balls DESMOND and DANIEL together, well it nearly bloody happens. So close. And there's a tantalising closing few minutes...

Two Blog~points if you know who this is.

In film news, THE MIGHTY BOOSH have confirmed they're doing a movie - see HERE. The recent INDIANA JONES etc... trailer has been altered for 'International' audiences, read about the changes HERE.

It wasn't him they digitally altered...

The aforementioned HC has revealed, alongside SAMMY J, that he would be happy to lend his voice to the upcoming CLONE WARS, get that news HERE. Tops! A while back I 'reported' that the last film from HEATH LEDGER, THE IMAGINARIUM OF DR PARNASSUS, would feature JOHNNY DEPP taking over his role. Well, it seems this is true but there will be a few others also portraying the late actor's character - see HERE.

He looks sad 'cos he can't get CHANNEL 5, that's where NEIGHBOURS is now.

PETER "Always In The Limelight" GABRIEL has announced he's doing the music from PIXAR's new flick, WALL•E, get the 411 HERE. I'm a huge PETEY G fan (although his last album was a bit p*sh) and his film work had been truly exemplary. Less discreet viewers may be familiar with "That'll Do" from BABE: PIG IN THE CITY (he didn't write that one though) and the "surprised~it~wasn't~a~hit" "Book Of Love" from the despicable SHALL WE DANCE as well as countless other films that have used his tracks: VANILLA SKY; GANGS OF NEW YORK and PHILADELPHIA to name a few but check out the full list HERE. But the more tasteful film~lover may remember his work on LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST, BIRDY and RABBIT~PROOF FENCE. Not just three awesome soundtracks but three superlative~beating pieces of music.

Taxi for the new BOND title?

'Til the next time,
C.
