Paul Potts - The Movie!!??
Yup, you read correctly. Get the 411 on PAUL POTTS: The Movie HERE.

POL POT is the one on the right.

In my 'research' for this piece I wondered to myself if there's ever been a fictional film account of his namesake, POL POT. And, interestingly - in a DAY OF THE DOLPHIN way - there has been. Here's the synopsis for it:

The office staff of the most brutal dictator on earth attempts to throw their boss a surprise birthday party.

With high~larious consequences! It's called POL POT'S BIRTHDAY and I was sad to see that NICHOLAS "The Guv'nor" LYNDHURST was not involved. Sniff.

Nicholas Lyndhurst is the one on the left.

But maybe the part of the singing buffoon should go to one of these guys, pictured below on one of their infamous nights of kissin' an' a cuddlin':

Check out their eyes, what have they been smokin'?

In the world of TV - which is what this blog is meant to be about, apparently - HARRY HILL'S TV BURP was back to its surreal best. Remember the 'Cataracts' bit from a few weeks back? Well it was back, but this time it was 'Ear Cataracts' and starred, in its sequence, such luminaries as: NOEL FIELDING (with his brother); JONATHAN ROSS: ALAN DALE; a slurry of soap, daytime, prime~time, night~time stars; as well as RICKY GERVAIS. A real moment from HILL. Top stuff. He even managed to shoehorn a reference to last week's 'earthquake' in.

MOSS: presenting again.

IDOL threw up, being the proverbial term, some neat phrases. Everything to RANDY is either "dope", ie. "That band was playing some dope tunes" or he says "Man, you can really blow". Now, he says 'blow' like it's a flippin' compliment! Which makes me giggle. Not to be outdone, PAULA 'stepped up' and used her words commenting, positively mind, "You brought a real familiarity to that song." A song, I may add, we were all familiar with anyway. They keep saying these guys and gals are the best but they have all the charisma, collectively, of a prostitute's amputated leg. And that's not a good thing Randy!

What's wrong with this pic? Erm, the lighting?

I haven't really mentioned FAMILY GUY or THE SIMPSONS but I download the new ones whenever they are broadcast over in Yankland. Nothing really brilliant about either to be honest but this week's offerings made me chuckle at least once. In Quahog, LOUIS suggests to BRIAN that they stay in and rent bad movies; VANILLA SKY is his choice but she retorts: "I said a 'bad movie', not an abortion." Sah~nap! In Springfield, the episode was a take on THE DEPARTED with RALPH commenting on the rats running around at the denoument: "The rats symbolise obviousness." Double sah~nap!

Cheeky thing, looks like she's got WINEHOUSE SYNDROME.

I caught an episode, by mistake, of THE BIG BANG THEORY. Not great but I did LOL a couple of times, mainly at all the geek references. One thing that could be better is the mise~en~scene. Yeah, I just said that. For example, in THE IT CROWD and 40~YEAR OLD VIRGIN the sets are dressed with all sorts of real geek ephemera - not just STAR WARS or STAR TREK toys but not so in this show. They missed a trick there, they've only got a model of the Space Shuttle on show to demonstrate their geekiness. Still it might have been explained in a previous episode. I may well watch again. THAT MITCHELL & WEBB LOOK was ok but I'm becoming increasingly disappointed with these guys. Next up, pictures from PRINCE CASPIAN have been released, you can see them HERE but you can check out this little guy below:

Unadvisedly, they seem to be going ahead with the X~MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE film. Check out LIEV "Owns A Jack Russell Terrier Named Chicken, Apparently" SHRIEBER as 'nemesis' SABRETOOTH below:

'Til the next time,

C.
