Tom Baker BACK? Winston Churchill IN?
Some interesting news on the WHO~horizon indeed.

Nice jacket?

TOM "I Bet He Cried After 'Time Crash'" BAKER has mooted a return to DOCTOR WHO in THIS interview. Oddly, he says that he's never watched the show since its return in 2005. Now, this totally contradicts comments he made on a DVD commentary, with LIS "Slurrrrp!" SLADEN, where he spoke rather derogatively of the 'revamp'. So have you seen it or not Tom? Anyway, it seems that he would return to the show if they "ask me nicely". Part of me wonders if they got PETEY D back just to p*ss that old b*stid off. Don't get me wrong, I lurve TOMMY B but there's an old saying: "Don't slag off a show and then expect them to ask you on it." In a bizarre coincidence, he did the same with SHOOTING STARS and then subsequently appeared in the ill~fated (but not terrible) remake of RANDALL & HOPKIRK DECEASED. So he's got form in that area.

Winston Churchill?

THIS article was proving to be a dull read - regarding DOCTOR WHO novels - until I came across this nugget. There was a recent novel, REVENGE OF THE JUDOON, that was going to feature WINSTON CHURCHILL, but the "TV people" liked the idea so much that they want to use it on the small screen. Obviously a bit late for SERIES 4 but it looks like an appearance from the ex~PM is likely in perhaps one of the 2009 SPECIALS or possibly SERIES 5. Now, there are SPOILERS in the next paragraph, so this post is at end for you if you don't want to be sullied with info on the upcoming series of DW. You have been warned...

Wasp attack?

Firstly, a bit of house~keeping. In THIS post by me I gave out some tantalising, if true, news about TORCHWOOD but I forgot to source it; for completists (I don't make this stuff up, you know), you'll find the relevant sources HERE and HERE. Interestingly, and I use the word quite wrongly, those articles also bring up the name of ROBERT "Wanted: My Career Back On Track" CARLYLE regarding the 11th DOCTOR. His name has been bandied about a lot over the past few years and in a recent RADIO TIMES interview he said he wouldn't mind taking on the role. I bet he wouldn't! Right, more spoilers. Not sure how to gauge this one. It popped up on WHO forum by a guy who claims to have a friend on the production team who is leaving (I know, I know) but he offered the following tidbits: [1] When MARTHA returns, she meets the DOCTOR by accident; it is not arranged [2] When ROSE returns, she does so alone (at first) [3] THE DOC meets up with SARAH JANE "minutes" after THE SARAH JANE ADVENTURES finale finished [4] THE DOCTOR goes looking for his former companions [5] There is "definitely" a regeneration this SERIES. The last point is very intriguing as the regeneration could be a number of characters other than the Doctor (as we know DAVEY T is doing the specials) including: [1] THE MASTER - reportedly JOHN "Please Come Back" SIMM filmed a few scenes back in NOVEMBER and there is his ring left behind in last year's finale; [2] THE DOCTOR'S DAUGHTER (some claim this it the title of the episode she appears in) - this one seems unlikely but EPISODE 6 of the new series will feature either his actual daughter or someone claiming to be her but his could all be confusion as GEORGIA "I Am Peter Davison's Daughter" MOFFETT is playing a part in it; [3] Flashback to the 8TH DOCTOR regenerating at the end of the TIME WAR - the woman who runs the MCGANN BROTHERS website has said that PAUL MCGANN is working on something at the moment but won't (or can't) reveal what it is. [4] or simply another TIME LORD.

Regenerating?

'Til the next time,
C.

Gasp! Lured in by spoilers AGAIN!

My self-control in such matters is rubbish. Wonder if I can manage to keep myself "pure" of all spoiler-info for the Specials? Not much point in worrying about series four anyway!

Have to say though, am continuing to enjoy visits to the blog, which are whetting the appetite nicely for The Imminent Return.

Carry on the good work - I shall try and exercise greater restraint when I reach the parts of the blog which gently warn the good readers to consider skipping past particularly informative paragraphs.....

    HEEE's cheeky, he's chirpy,
    He's leapy and he's lirpy,

    He's........

    ... Nicholas Ampersand~Whelks!

We'll find out soon enough if these are indeed true but the spoilers are coming thick and fast now. And, with the finale in the final days of shooting, there's sure to be more niggies to come.

I hope they manage to keep something secret 'cos I can't help myself.
