"It Has A Sort Of Oaky Afterbirth"
Top wine~quote from MICHAEL SCOTT, but more from THE OFFICE later. First up, as always, WHO~news.

Casting for the 11th Doctor continues...

DOCTOR WHO is visiting the proms with a specially filmed scene! Get the 411 on this year's event HERE. My last post contained SPOILER~ish material about the 2008 CHRISTMAS SPECIAL and, as predicted, the news is getting out there. Go HERE for a newspaper article on it. I'm sure there will be a press release on it soon enough.

Sorry, no INDY news this post!

TV~wise, DAVID "Stick To Paper~Thin Character Sketches Please" WALLIAMS popped up playing FRANKIE "To Be Honest, I'm Not Really A Fan. There I Said It." HOWERD in RATHER YOU THAN ME and vastly disappointing it was too. Sadly, David's acting skills were not of a level to transport me from thinking,"There's David Walliams doing an impression of Frankie Howerd." An impression that, at times, was very poor. The story itself was also a non~event with no real drama and few sympathetic moments. I did, however, enjoy RAFE "Son Of Timothy" SPALL.

You've Got Snail...

I watched that on the 'ole iPlayer (whilst doing the dishes no less) and continued to look for new stuff when I came across new yoof show, THE WALL. I won't be doing that again. Couldn't even watch it to the end but, then again, I'm not really their demographic. Speaking of not being in the demographic, I am continuing to watch AMERICAN IDOL. This week saw the charity event that is IDOL GIVES BACK. Quite a poor show, literally, really. BILLY CRYSTAL? Come on! Having said that ROBIN "I'm So Hungry I Could Eat A Frazh" WILLIAMS did provide the only larfs for me appearing as a winning contest from RUSSIAN IDOL which was him pretty much putting on a funny voice. Shockingly ('cos he could actually sing), Aussie rocker MICHAEL "Hutchence, Oops, Sorry I Mean" JOHNS got booted off this week just after RYAN stated they normally didn't kick anyone off during that week. He look gutted. So it wasn't all bad.

Robin with another Billy.

Thankfully THE APPRENTICE was there to provide larfs. And in abundance. It seems that this year one week the girls will provide all the entertainment/horror/genuine stupidity and then the following week it's the guys' turn. Annoyingly, RAFE kept himself quiet, though he did say 110% (again!!) within the first ten minutes of the show. One thing about these guys that amuses me no end is their machismo and the way in which it infiltrates their patterns of speech. No matter what they're doing they speak in vacuous man~phrases that defy any kind of analysis and with such pomposity that you can imagine DAVID BRENT coming in and congratulating them on passing his management course. Top stuff, again.

The real stars of THE APPRENTICE. Imagine them doing it...

THE APPRENTICE: YOU'RE FIRED demonstrated how little humility this weeks LOSER had. If you remember, dear reader, one of the f**knuckles claimed he couldn't say that word. This week he claimed he couldn't even spell it. Well, I'm sure he knows both now. He looked genuinely sick on that stage, which is no bad thing as he really was a hideous piece of work. The conundrum now seems to be if SR'ALAN will actually give a job to one of this shower as I wouldn't trust one of them to manage a fart let alone a business. Lastly (drum roll purlease), THE OFFICE is back! Huzzah!

Back! Yay!

This week's was more cringey than funny though I did hoot a number of times especially at the quote in the title of this post. JIM did all the usual faces to maximum effect but the episode doesn't fall into the 'classic' category. Funny but not great and Michael's relationship with Jan is getting slightly disturbing (no bad thing). Great to have it back though.

New face move from Jim...

'Til the next time,
C.
