MIYAZAKI - Howl's Moving Cake~Shop?
Hhmm, not quite..

Going to Japan? Or maybe you live there. Anyway, if you find yourself in TOKYO, why not pop down to the only STUDIO GHIBLI licensed purveyor of the awesome TOTORO CREAM PUFF (I saw 'awesome', I haven't had one but they look great).

It's called SHIROHIGE and its only product is the aforementioned cream puff. The guys in there make 100 a day and are frequently sold out 10 minutes after they open (I guess capitalism hasn't go there yet).

Shirohige means, apparently, "White Bearded Cream Puff Workshop" and you can find more on this enterprise HERE. The shop is full of MIYAZAKI~esque creations and artwork but mystery surrounds this little place who choose quality over quantity. Good on them.

Sticking with MIYAZAKI, here's an Inn that has been designed (partly) by the man himself. It is located in a lurvely looking town called TOMONOURA in FUKUYAMA CITY (yup, still in Japan). This is the outside, Spirited Away anyone?

He drew up some basic concepts for the Inn and gave it its name, Onfunayado Iroha. Apparently, ofunayado means 'sailor inn' and iroha means 'Japanese alphabet'. As long as I can get a bath in there and get rid of a bike, I'll be as happy as a sand boy.

Lastly, in this Miyazaki~dominated post, here's some artwork Hayao did for his next film, PONYO ON THE CLIFF BY THE SEA. Bloggites will know I am a huge fan of his work and I greatly look forward to this piece of work and I'm already proclaiming it 'Film Of The Year' (prove me wrong Batman).

'Til the next time,
C.
